TLT Design: Professional Development

• Work with entire science dept. at a school
  • Participants have peer support
  • Change the culture of teaching & learning in the school
  • Conduct PD on-site
• Year-long PD course (3 day summer workshop, 2 hour course meetings 3x/month during school year)
  • Change takes time (vs. "shot in the arm" interventions)
  • Integrate PD into ongoing teaching activities
• 3 years of collaborative action research
  • Help participants adapt QDI to own needs & constraints
  • Foster ongoing reflection on teaching practice
